Bitumen Operations Assistant (ASEAN/Oceania)
Location: Shell House, Central, Singapore

The Shell Business to Business (B2B) portfolio comprises five separate Classes of Business – Aviation, Bitumen, Commercial Fuels, LPG and Marine. Each Line of Business has its own targets and the ambition to be the leader in its industry.
Responsibilities:
* To provide shipping and related operational support and ensure that shipment costs for the bitumen business in Asean and Oceania are minimized by fully optimizing the supply logistics for bulk and drums;
* To optimize the utilization of all Group time-chartered bitumen vessels in ASEAN & Oceania and ensure that freighting costs are fully recovered;
* To negotiate the terms and conditions with shipping agents and, in conjunction with DIB/523, appoint these agents for various discharge ports. Incumbent has to notify agents in advance of vessel arrivals, documentation requirements, shore arrangements and berthing facilities;
* To compute the costs and voyage time for each prospective new voyage taking into consideration important factors such as the charter-hire fee of each ship, cargo size and estimated loading/discharging times;
* Check and coordinate demurrage claims for and against Shell.
Requirements:
* Good Communication and Analytical Skills;
* Ability to develop and maintain good relationship with sales and to work with people of varied cultures;
* Any oil and shipping operations background;
* Ability to calculate freight costs and analysis ship performance;
* Knowledge of the freight market will be advantageous;
* Authorisation to work in Singapore is required for this position.
